This timeline-table is a guide to various geological features in Europe (many, though not all, in the GoogleEarth Tour) — and the questions they raised and how various geologists interpreted them. Be sure to read about each episode relevant to your role. You may also wish to become more familiar with other episodes, especially those that might prove challenging to your overall position (consider your aim to persuade others!).

To organize your information, you may wish to record, for each episode, the following:

• date, scientist
• feature of the landscape
• explanation
• evidence and reasoning
• local v. global processes
• other similar or related episodes
